We are delighted to announce that Sir Robert McAlpine have been awarded a £25m contract with the London South Bank University (LSBU) for the construction of the new Lambeth College building.

Lambeth College has formed a partnership with LSBU and have brought Pagabo on board to procure the project. We were able to offer a quick, simple and cost-effective approach to their procurement.

Using Pagabo’s compliant procurement process, LSBU were swiftly put in touch with contractors through a two stage further competition process. Sir Robert McAlpine were awarded the contract as they met the requirements of LSBU most accurately. The project has continued to move at a fast pace, and the Lambeth College STEAM Centre project is now in motion with the design phase currently underway.

“The interface with the Pagabo process was easy. The portal and the transparency of information made assessing the opportunity simple for our business. The OJEU compliant procurement meant that there was a healthy level of competition and a focus on maximising the quality and value for LSBU.”

Enabled by Pagabo’s Major Works Framework, the project includes the construction of a 10,000sqm further education teaching building for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths. The design consists of two volumes; a 2-storey element containing the main entrance space and large work workshops for construction skills training; whilst the narrower plan of the main building rises to 11-storeys with a 4-storey section to the rear.

Once built, this state-of-the-art student facility will enable students to further enrich their knowledge in a modern environment. It will facilitate Lambeth College students to help improve their education and put them in better stead for the future.

At Pagabo, we pride ourselves on being able to provide clients with quick, flexible and complaint procurement solutions to match the needs of their project and are delighted to see another Major Works project in motion.
