Recently we’ve continued our excellent relationship with Central Bedfordshire Council, and are delighted to announce the appointment of suppliers on two key schemes.

Both schemes required a compliant procurement route, which Pagabo's framework was able to offer, with Ashe Construction and Lindum Group awarded on each project respectively.

Edward Peake School Expansion (Ashe Construction)

The first of the two projects currently undertaken by Central Bedfordshire Council is the new £5 million Edward Peake School expansion.

Following a public consultation, the council worked with the school on plans to develop its current site. This new expansion promises an additional 60 places for pupils in each year group, while also enabling the addition of more specialist teachers covering various areas of the curriculum.

This latest award by the Central Bedfordshire council highlights their long-term commitment to meet the growing demand for school places in Biggleswade, as well as contributing towards the council’s ‘Schools for the Future’ programme.

Following a compliant procurement process through our Medium Works Framework, Ashe Construction were identified as the preferred supplier, with work on this expansion getting underway from the 22nd of July to ensure the project is delivered on time for the client.

Stratton 5a Project (Lindum Group)

A further scheme recently awarded by Central Bedfordshire Council is the Stratton 5a project.

Previously procured outside of the Pagabo suite of frameworks, this project hit a stumbling block after Shaylor Construction, who were originally awarded the contract through an open market tender, unfortunately fell into administration.

To get this project back on track, the Central Bedfordshire Council again decided to utilise Pagabo’s Medium Works Framework, awarding the project to Lindum Group through a direct award.

Our frameworks were able to offer both schemes extremely quick turnarounds, ensuring the client was able to appoint their contractors and get the project underway as quickly and efficiently as possible.

We pride ourselves on the speed and flexibility of our frameworks and were delighted to be able to support Central Bedfordshire Council in their time of need. To find out more about our Medium Works Framework, click the button below.
